Serengeti

Simply Serengeti safari

The Serengeti is the gem in the crown of Tanzania and is often the highlight of the safari. It offers a chance to see the Tanzanian wilderness, untapped, and to experience the vastness of the savannah. For those who are more time than budget sensitive, we’ve put together this Serengeti exclusive itinerary. The Serengeti is a must see any time of the year, and this itinerary changes depending on which time of the year people are visiting. Guests fly in to and out of the park and will focus exclusively on the Serengeti. This is also an excellent itinerary for those who have already visited Tanzania and who wish to return to focus only on this park. For those who come when the migration is in the north, the majority of accommodation is high end luxury tents, so pricing is often slightly higher for July – October safaris.

Details

This itinerary also allows for a variety of lodging options.

Arrive in JRO where a member of our team will be waiting for you. You will then be taken to your lodge for dinner and a good night’s sleep.
After breakfast you will fly to the Serengeti. Which part of the Serengeti you fly into will depend on the time of year you are visiting. Safaris in May and June will fly into western Serengeti. Safaris July – October will fly into northern Serengeti. Safaris November to April will most likely fly into central Serengeti. Every year the rainfall patterns vary and we’ll tailor your safari accordingly. You’ll arrive in the Serengeti in time for a picnic lunch and an afternoon game drive.
For three days you’ll be following the wildebeest migration, following the predators and exploring this great park.
There will be an early start to the day so we can head into Manyara National Park when the game viewing is at its best. We’ll drive in the open plains near Manyara Lake for game viewing and then to the hippo pool where we can stretch our legs while viewing and listening active hippos and birds in the morning. We’ll continue with drive exploring underground water forest and big game animals including buffalo, elephants and giraffes. If we’re lucky, we might even spot the elusive tree-climbing lion. After lunch we will head to Lake Eyasi. The road to Eyasi goes up the rift escarpment and into farmland. We’ll arrive at Lake Eyasi just in time for a spectacular sunset.
After breakfast you’ll fly back to Arusha, where you’ll be met by one of our team. You’ll then head to Kilimanjaro for your flight home.
